Scams Get Hold of Desperate Timeshare Owners

Transfer AmericaThat’s what they do. They tell you what you want to hear and then you fall for it all; the hook, line and sinker.  Timeshare resale con artists are very skilled at what they do and that is why you need to be cautious when trying to free yourself from your timeshare ownership.  John Davis from New Mexico did not foresee that such an occurrence could be possible and he got taken by a timeshare resale con artist for $ 2,200. Davis was thinking about selling a unit that he recently hadn’t used and at that time he received an unexpected phone call from a telemarketer that told him that his company already had a buyer for his timeshare property and that the deal would close in about 30 to 60 days.  The only thing would be that Davis would have to pay the closing costs in advance.

Davis, just like many other timeshare holders in the U.S. fell victim to a timeshare scam. He waited for 60 days and his timeshare was not sold and nothing was happening.  When calling the company, they would continually make up excuses to Davis of why the process is taking so long and after a couple of months they completely stopped answering his phone calls.  Even though they company sounded “legitimate” as Davis recalls, they proved to be just another timeshare scam company.
